The Parent Center at Downtown Magnets High School welcomes all parents and family members to visit any time during open hours. You don’t need an appointment. Come see what’s available to you. We’re on the upper level. Turn right at the main office. Park in any space in the upper lot - you don't need a permit.

The following services are available to you, your student, and your family - FREE. 

   - Computer and Internet access 
   - Copy machines 
   - References to legal, medical, and social services 
   - Educational workshops 
   - Tutoring and after school classes for your students 
   - Applications for discounted bus passes for your students 
   - Information on applying for scholarships 
   - Facilitation of parent-teacher conferences 
   - Translation 
   - Free literature

El Centro de Padres en Downtown Magnets High School da la bienvenida a todos los padres y miembros de la familia a visitar en cualquier momento durante las horas de apertura. Usted no necesita una cita. Venga a ver lo que está a su disposición. Estamos en el nivel superior. Estudios muestran que los estudiantes alcanzan mayores niveles de éxito académico cuando los padres participan en la educación de sus hijos. Su participación es muy importante durante los años de escuela intermediaria y secundaria cuando el rendimiento educativo de un alumno es más significativo para determinar su futuro.

En el Centro de Padres le podemos ayudar a usted a aprender cómo ayudar a su hijo con la tarea, cómo crear un ambiente positivo de aprendizaje en el hogar, cómo encontrar los recursos que necesita para su familia, y cómo mejorar sus habilidades como padre.

Hello parents!  We would like to remind you that there is still time to sign up for LAUSD’s Parent Portal.  Here you will be able to keep up to date with your child’s academic progress.  You can register by visiting http://parentportal.lausd.net  If you have any questions or need help with your parent PIN Code, please come by our Parent Center and we will be more than happy to help in the enrollment process.  Parent involvement is very important to a student’s success so sign up and be ready for this school year!
