greetings students parents my name is Mister Juarez magnet coordinator at downtown Magnet High School sharing this quick tutorial to help guide you during your online application. first step is to log onto re choices that lausd.net platform this is the landing page once here you'll go ahead and select apply now this little green button on the right hand side the application window for the 2020 to 20 I'm sorry for the 2023 to 2024 school year closes this Friday so it's important that you submit an application on time this process is also applies to late applications and I will go ahead and point out the option you'll select for either and on time or late application a little later on this video this is the next step here I'm if you've applied to a magnet program for obviously that she look familiar if you already have an account you simply log on and begin the process for many of us who have not set up an account you'll go ahead and select register this will prompt the screen you'll enter your information and email address I highly encourage that you select an email address that you reference regularly I know many of us have different emails for different purposes but select a email that you obviously keep track of on a frequent basis go ahead and enter the information you'll receive an email which will prompt you to create a password once you have that password you log back in and be able to begin the application process for this process I'll go ahead and pre-established and account so let me log on and we can begin the application process very user-friendly and if at any point you need assistance I do not hesitate to reach out all right we'll go ahead and log in and you land here for those of you that are new to this platform you'll go ahead and create a profile for your student I've obviously created one beforehand you'll select new student and it'll prompt you to enter student specific information very important that you select the current school year so that you can submit the correct application all right you'll just talk what is the menu items and you'll set up that account for that profile I should say for your student I'll go ahead and go to the dashboard additionally for parent information you will also create this this profile for yourself in a required contact information address information all information that you should have handy hopefully from this point on this is where the application selection actually be one stereo click apply to programs by then you'll have a profile for your student select your profile and click next this is the man you wear it'll bury once application windows closed and others reopen in this case for this particular video you are submitting an application for the 2023 to 2024 school year here will indicate that the application window closes after November 18th this option will no longer be available the applicant the late application will open December 1st for all applicants and then just be mindful of the year that you're applying for when you select for the magnet programs I'll go ahead and select magnet program and select next you'll just verify student parent information make sure that everything is up to date make any changes if needed verify student Nation as well I would advise you to ensure that the next school year is correct and this is where you'll select our school as you know we have two Pathways we have our business fashion pathway and we have our computer science digital media arts in engineering if you really have your heart set and coming to our school I encourage you to apply to both select the one that is at the top of your list first and then select the other one second you have the option to select up to three schools you scroll down to the manual and you'll look for a high school so here we are alphabetical order downtown High School business and then I'll still act downtown High School computer science is right underneath our business pathway I won't select the third for this application you'll click next you'll have this option to select if your child is placed on a waitlist do you want his or her name shirt with other schools for this particular application I'm going to select now that you have the option to select either answer no problem to where did you hear about our unified enrollment I'll just go ahead and select friends and family for this particular application and then that's it you'll select I agree your press submit and then you'll receive a e-mail verification with a confirmation number for your application is very very soon once you submit the application and you want to maybe go back and ensure that everything is okay you can click on the dashboard and here you'll be able to track your applications if you are interested in doing so once again my name is Mister why does magnet coordinator if you need any support with the with this application you can contact me via email if you go to our website downtown magnets.
